Apollos Final Fall Record 9-1-1Championship Game Apollos 8 Houston Braves 2The Apollos got a 6 inning/14 strikeout performance from Alex Dutka in defeating the Houston Braves to win to 2005 Houston City League Fall Championship.. The Apollos stole 7 bases and were lead offensively by Kevin Hall who had two key hits, Clifton Siems and Josh Krikstain each scored two runs and had the team had a 5 run 4th inning in which the Braves made several errors to prolong the inning.

The Apollos got a 10 strikeout 7 inning shutout from Sonny Terrazas in winners bracket championship of fall playoffs. Sonny only allowed 5 baserunners and dominated throughout. The offense was lead by a first inning 4 run outburst started by Mike Wilson's 400 ft opposite field home run and Kevin Hall's RBI single and Ryan Laverell's 2 out 2 rbi single. In the 5th inning the Apollos scored 5 more runs again lead by Wilson and Laverell to seal the game. Wilson scored three runs and Laverell drove in three runs.
Playoff Game 1 Apollos 13 Shockers 0The Apollos played a 9 on 9 game with the Shockers with all of their hitters in the lineup minus Mike Wilson. Wilson wasn't needed as the Apollos were lead by Kevin Hall's bases loaded double of the fence, Tommy Denson's RBI second inning triple, Ryan Laverell one hopped the fence with his RBI double. Derek David had two doubles. Andrew Dunn and Tommy Denson each scored three runs. Alex Dutka pitched 4-1/3 inning before leaving due to stiffness. Sonny Terrazas pitched 1-2/3 innings of shutout ball escaping 1 out and men and 1st and 2nd that he inherited. Great pitching by both and good defense left the Shockers with little chance.Game 9 Apollos 8 Shockers 8The Apollos started this game with 7 people and gave up 4 runs in the first inning because of only 7. In the 2nd inning the 8th man showed. Brice Parmer started the game allowing 7 runs in 2 innings, mainly on walks/errors he gave way to Justin Loftin who entered with bases loaded and no outs he gave a bases loaded double then settled down allowing one run over two innings. Andrew Dunn and Ricky Watkins eached pitched scoreless innings to allow the Apollos their 4th tie in team history. Offensively the Apollos were lead by Brice Parmer's two out game tieing double in the 7th. Kevin Hall scored, Hall, Dunn and Watkins were the only hope the Apollos offense had. The other 5 batters were asleep limiting the Apollos offense.
Game 8 Apollos 12 Houston Braves 2The Apollos opened the top of the first inning with a four run ralley and then three runs in the second inning and never looked back. Mike Wilson, Andrew Dunn and Tommy Denson lead the way scoring three runs apiece. Alex Dutka started the game before leaving with stiffness he allowed only one run.. Justin Loftin came on the pitch six innings allowing only one run appearing very sharp.
Game 7 Apollos 14 Shockers 5The Apollos brought their swinging sticks and the Shockers outfielders had trouble playing defense. The visting Apollos dropped a 4 spot in the first inning lead by Kevin Hall's double and Clifton Siems fly ball which was dropped. Alex Dutka and Sonny were pitching so that should have been enough but The Apollos dropped another 4 spot in the third lead by Andrew Dunn's two rbi bases loaded single and Mike Wilson two rbi double. Clifton Siems nearly homered twice hitting the centerfield fence and fouling a ball 5 feet foul. Closest yet to homer. Congratulations to Justin Loftin your first base hit of the year! Dutka didn't allow a run, Terrazas allowed 5.
Game 6 Apollos 7 Houston Braves 4
This game was close until the Braves made several errors. Justin Loftin picked up his first victory pitching the 4th inning when the Apollos scored all their runs. Alex Dutka pitched two scoreless, Sonny Terrazas pitched three innings allowing 2 runs and Brice Parmer pitched one inning allowing a run.. The offense was missing all the middle of the order bats but managed seven runs.Andrew Dunn scored two runs and drove in two runs. The Apollos had a four run rally in the 4th lead by a misplayed fly ball by Braves Shortstop that turned out to be difference in the game.
Game 5 Apollos 6 Shockers 1The Apollos got 7 shutout innings from Sonny Terrazas and the 40 degree weather slowed down the Apollos offense. Chris Gibson and Ryan Laverell each had solid base hits in their fall debuts Laverell made the play of the day throwing out a man at the plate from Centerfield.
Justin Loftin pitched the final 2 innings allowing a run. Andrew Dunn scored three runs. Ricky Watkins scored two runs.
Game 4 Apollos 8 Kingwood College 6
Ricky Watkins picked up his first win on the mound in the second game pitching the final three innings. Mike Wilson started this game on the mound allowing 5 runs in 3 innings. Andrew Dunn pitched a scoreless inning and Watkins pitched the final three innings for the win. Watkins had three hits and scored two runs. Andrew Dunn had two hits and scored three runs but the real show was put on by Mike Wilson as he hit some true tape measure shots that were stopped by an incoming 20 mph wind from left field.
Game 3 Apollos 10 Kingwood College 9Brice Parmer made his pitching debut and saved the Apollos from a near loss. Justin Loftin started the game but couldn't get out of the 3rd inning. He allowed 8 runs in two innings. Brice entered in the third inning with no outs and would only allow one run in 5 innings. Mike Wilson, Andrew Dunn, Brice and Tommy Denson lead the offense all scoring two runs.
Game 2 Apollos 9 Rockies 1The Apollos brought out their Yellow Jerseys and returned to their winning ways. Alex Dutka pitched 5 innings allowing one run and striking out 6. Mike Wilson pitched one inning allowing no runs. Tommy Denson and Kevin Hall lead the way each with 2 hits and 3 rbi's. Ricky Watkins made his Apollo debut with two doubles. A stray dog ate Andrew Dunn's sandwich in the middle of the game.
Game 1 Rockies 8 Apollos 7The Apollos showed up to this game with 7 guys and started with a 7-1 lead... After second round of at bats the Rockies finally figured out how to score runs and tied the game in 7th 7-7. They scored one run in the 8th and the Apollos couldn't get a run. Alex Dutka scored three scoreless innings. Sonny Terrazas allowed three runs in two innings, then Justin Loftin allowed 5 runs in 2.33 innings.. Every pitcher was rusty...Mike Wilson and Andrew Dunn each had 3 hits, 3 steals and scored two runs. Despite the effort this loss breaks the Apollos 27 game HMABL winning steak, their last lost occuring against the Reds in Spring 2004.
