Lincoln Saltdogs Roll Past Houston Apollos 18-7

September 3 2021 The Lincoln Saltdogs defeated the Houston Apollos 18-7 behind a 19-hit attack at Haymarket Park. Lincoln took control with seven runs in the first inning and six more in the second before adding single runs in the third and fourth and three in the seventh. Houston scored twice in the first four innings and added four runs in the seventh but could not close the gap.

Y. Perez led Lincoln with three hits in four at-bats three runs and five RBI including a home run. D. Vidal also collected three hits scored three times and drove in three runs with a home run. F. Allday went 3-for-6 with two RBI while J. Altmann and S. Weber each homered. Lincoln hit five home runs overall.

Ben Wereski earned the win after allowing nine hits and seven earned runs in seven innings. He walked three and struck out four before C. Hope and T. Anderson combined to finish the game with two scoreless innings. Houston starter Auggie Martinez took the loss after surrendering nine runs on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings.
