Milwaukee Milkmen Beat Houston Apollos 6-2

August 15 2021 The Milwaukee Milkmen defeated the Houston Apollos 6-2, collecting 10 hits while limiting Houston to four. Milwaukee scored once in the first inning, added three runs in the third, one in the sixth and one in the eighth to secure the victory.

Milwaukee’s offense was led by C. Sturgeon, who went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. L. Trowbridge added two hits, including a home run, with two runs and one RBI. D. Washington hit his 17th home run and drove in two runs, while A. Hill hit his 10th homer and also finished with two RBIs.

Christian Young earned the win after allowing four hits and two earned runs over five innings. He walked three and struck out four. T. Metoxen, K. Mora, Z. Hartman and R. Boyer combined for four scoreless innings of relief, allowing no hits and recording five strikeouts.

Houston scored both of its runs in the first inning. Hudson Bilodeau went 1-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Jared Gay added an RBI. Sam Wells took the loss after surrendering seven hits and four earned runs in three innings.
