June 25 2021 The Winnipeg Goldeyes defeated the Houston Apollos 13-7 after building an early lead and finishing with 14 hits. Winnipeg scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second and two in the third to move ahead 9-0. Houston answered with five runs in the fourth, but Winnipeg added four in the fifth to restore control. Houston scored twice in the seventh before Winnipeg closed out the victory.
J. Gonzalez led Winnipeg with three hits, two doubles, two runs and two RBI. T. Hill went 2-for-4 with two walks, three runs and an RBI, while W. Darvill and K. Lachance each collected two hits. M. Murphy and K. Martin drove in three runs apiece, with Martin also hitting his 10th home run of the season. L. Hill added a solo home run for Winnipeg.
Houston collected 11 hits, led by two-hit games from B. Dansereau, B. Berry, D. Aldrich, B. Almadova and H. Bilodeau. Aldrich drove in three runs, while Bilodeau had two RBI. Winnipeg starter M. Webb allowed five runs on six hits in 4.2 innings, and K. Frosch earned the win after striking out three while allowing two runs in 2.1 innings. D. Sylve took the loss for Houston after permitting nine runs, eight earned, on 10 hits in three innings. Winnipeg committed no errors while Houston was charged with three.
