May 21 2021 The Houston Apollos rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Houston collected 11 hits and overcame an early deficit, while Gary SouthShore finished with five hits. The RailCats scored once in the first inning, twice in the third and once in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.
Houston answered with two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and another in the eighth. Nick Anderson led the Apollos with two hits, two runs and three RBIs, including a home run and two doubles. Ramon Villa went 3-for-3 with two runs, while Beder Gutierrez added two hits and Daniel Aldrich and Ian Yetsko each recorded a hit.
Ryan Richardson earned the win for Houston after allowing two hits and no runs over 4.2 innings with five strikeouts. Zaquiel Puentes started for the Apollos and surrendered four earned runs on three hits in four innings, striking out six. Derrick Sylve worked one-third of an inning without allowing a hit.
Ryan Jones supplied Gary SouthShores primary offensive production with a home run and two RBIs. Victor Desai added one hit and one RBI, while John Marriaga had two hits and scored once. Tasker Strobel took the loss after allowing three earned runs on five hits in three innings.
