July 10 2020 The Houston Apollos defeated the Roswell Invaders 2-1, scoring single runs in the third and fifth innings before holding on for the narrow victory. Roswell answered with its only run in the sixth. Houston finished with seven hits to Roswell’s five and committed three errors compared with one for the Invaders.
Mike Million provided the key offensive blow for Houston with a home run and two RBIs. Jordan Gonzalez collected three hits, while Michael Flohr added two hits. Trey Silmon also drove in a run for the Apollos, who left 12 runners on base.
Kyle Atkinson earned the win with a complete-game effort, allowing five hits and one run while walking four and striking out eight. Elvin Jorge took the loss after allowing five hits and two runs in four innings, with four walks and six strikeouts. Tyler Schmidt followed with five scoreless innings for Roswell, permitting two hits and striking out four.
