Playoffs Game 3
Apollos 12 Deer Park Cardinals 6
The Apollos and Cardinals met for the winners bracket championship game of the Houston City League. The Apollos decided early that they were going to the ball out of the ballpark as much as possible. In the first inning Will Wade doubled off the fence and was followed by a line drive home run by Bob Phaff. In the second inning after a series of walked Apollo batters Clifton Siems hit a two out, two strike grand slam to make the score 7-1. In the 5th inning Kevin Hall hit a solo homer and Will Wade hit a two run homer.. In the 7th inning Clifton Siems hit another two run homer giving him 6 rbi's on the day.. Sonny Terrazas pitched well in miserable rainy conditions for the win, Mike Estrada came on to record the final 4 outs. 11 of the 12 Apollo runs were plated off of home runs...
Playoffs Game 2
Apollos 5 Mudcats 4
The Apollos really struggled defensively in this game giving the Mudcats many chances and three unearned runs. In the end the Apollos came through offensively. Bob Phaff came through twice with two outs and a man in scoring position with key hits. Andrew Dunn had two hits and scored two runs. Mike Estrada played well defensively and went 3-4. Kevin Hall reached base twice and scored two runs. The final run scored on a bases loaded pass ball. Sonny Terrazas threw the first 7 innings and David Trahan closed out the 8th for the win. The Apollos were minus Dutka, Marcos, and Siems but managed a win. Great game from Sonny and Bob.
Playoffs Game 1
Apollos 16 Metro Astros 5
Sonny Terrazas decided since he was the starting pitcher he would show up 10 minutes after game time. Sonny will be fined for this heavily. The Apollos managed through the first two innings without allowing run before putting in Terrazas. The game was tied 1-1 in the fourth when Kevin Bobo hit a grand slam and the Apollos scored 3 more runs giving a 8-1 lead. Bob Phaff added a three run homer and the lead swelled to 16-1 every Apollo scored a run and had a hit. Marcos Quinones allowed 3 runs before getting three outs in the bottom of the 7th.

Chris Gibson started the game and threw 2 innings before walking the bases loaded, he was removed for Mike Estrada who threw the rest of the game, the Apollos really had a suspect defense on the field, making 6 errors and first baseman dropping several balls... Look for an improved defense from this point going forward for the Apollos. Offensively Bob Phaff and Rene Chapa remained hot each with hard hit doubles.
Game 11
Apollos 9 Sky Sox 2

This game was much closer than the score indicates. The Apollos trailed 1-0 until the 5th, they would score nine runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th. This game was over before it started as it was the Apollos first game back after a grueling road trip. The Apollos were playing without Clifton Siems, Sonny Terrazas, Rene Chapa and Mike Estrada.. Cardinals scored 6 in the first and another 6 in the 5th. Jeff Murphy did great on the mound in relief of Alex Dutka only allowing one run in 4 innings. This was the Apollos 4th game in three days and a well needed rest awaits them.
Game 3
Apollos 13 Mudcats 1

It was the first game of HMABL season and the Apollos received many breaks by Mudcat errors.. But the story of the day was Alex Dutka.. He struck of 4 in 5 innings allowing 1 run and using his defense which only made one error. He pitched out of every jam he got into.. When he was done pitching he got one pinch hit at bat in which he homered into the left field parking lot..Clifton Siems scored 4 runs... All Apollos contributed to the win..

Three Apollos pitchers combined to only allow two base runners...Jason Ryan struck out all 6 batters he faced. The first 5 on 15 pitches. Great pitching also from Joseph Kantz and Sonny Terrazas..
Offensively Rene Chapa hit his first home run and all but one batting spot produced a run..
Game 1
Metro Astros 4 Apollos 3
The Apollos made 4 errors which resulted in 4 Astro runs and never got their bats going in time and dropped the opener. Chris McCreery two run homer was too late..

Dunn was lifted after finally giving up a run in the 7th. Alex Dutka closed out his second save of the day.
